Amanda Happel, LSW

Amanda is a Licensed Social Worker who graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey where she earned her Master’s in Social Work. Amanda graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelors in Sociology with a concentration in Human Services.

Amanda has worked with children and adolescents, in a school-based setting, where she provided counseling services to students and support to their families. She worked as a member of the Child Study Team where she helped plan individualized academic support for students. Through her work in schools, Amanda has gained background experience working with Social
Emotional Learning and the importance of emotional understanding within the classroom.

Amanda has also spent time working at a Sub-Acute/Skilled Nursing Facility. She collaborated with families whose loved ones were receiving post-surgical therapeutic services. Her role was to support clients with emotional needs during their stay and to ensure clients received support through their transition back into the community.

Amanda believes in a person-centered approach and holding space for clients to express their feelings and emotions. Amanda implements a combination of evidence-based interventions to create a custom approach to client’s needs. Amanda perceives that there is no “one size fits all” method to the therapeutic process, as client’s needs are unique to them. She feels therapy is about clients exploring their journey of life and collecting the tools they need to help them along the way.
